Somatokinetic
Bodyworker Certification
The following classes are required to become certified as a Somatokinetic
Bodyworker. Please contact us for more information on the certification
and class schedule.
Somatokinetic Bodywork 101, 102, 103, and 104
These classes explore different
modalities to address simple discomforts in the body. Knowing how
healthy muscles, tendons, and tissues are supposed to respond to a clinical
manipulation to produce a health supporting response is an important developmental
segment of these classes. Exploring the actual mechanical details of working
with the bones and muscles of a human body are addressed. These are not
basic massage classes even though some massage may be introduced. Techniques
of Craniosacral Therapy, Orthobionomy, Light Touch, and Oriental
Massage are explored in these classes.
Basic Massage 101 and 102
These are basic introductory classes on massage.
It acquaints you with the basic knowledge of anatomy, which is essential
in giving a good massage. You are introduced to simple massage techniques.
Become familiar with effleurage, petrissage, and other gentle healing
techniques of massage.
These are also good classes for those people that want to give loving
and gentle massages to their loved ones and really want to have an idea
of what they are doing. They are also excellent courses for those people
taking the Aromatherapy classes in order to learn appropriate ways to apply
aromatherapy oils. (Wear comfortable, soft, loose clothing as massage will
be done through the clothing.)
Reflexology 1 (Feet), 2 (Hands) and 3 (Body)
